8.12.2011 - 17.02.2012 Exhibition: "The Origin" Ecole de Physique, Geneva, Switzerland INFO
From the 8th of December 2011 until the 17th of February 2012, l'Ecole de Physique of Geneva University will host the exhibit The Origin, a journey between art and science.
This exhibition takes you to the latest knowledge and discoveries on physics and human paleontology as well as to the legends and myths that are accompanying the Origin.
30 artists from different European countries and from the Nairucu-Arts Centre in Mozambique will captivate the imagination in this quest of the origin.
In addition conferences intended for a large audience will highlight some of the aspects illustrated by the exhibit.

Description of perceived reality, urge to uncover the unknown and technical competences are important both to scientists and artists. This lecture will give an overview on an African art (Makonde Art) and on how art and science have been linked to the creative economy development and cultural project of Nairucu-Arts.

18.05.2011 - 23.05.2011 Exhibition: Hominids, Humans and Rock Art National Ethnographic Museum, Nampula, Mozambique INFO
On the International day of Museum the exhibition was opened by Dr. Bernardo Malacua, Director of "Casa provincial de Cultura" in Nampula. Several hundred students, visitors and tourists of all ages visited the exhibition. On the closing day after an artistic interlude from Nampula artists, lectures on rock art and giving an overview of paleoanthropological studies on the search of human's origin were introduced by a speech from Prof. Jorge Ferrão, Magnificent Rector of the University of Lurio in Nampula.

Exhibition of drawings from the project « Makonde legends reinterpreted » and presentation of Makonde Art and of the Nairucu-Arts project. Specific aim is to build a building and sustain free time activities for children in Rapale, Mozambique.
