Marilena Streit-Bianchi was born in Rome, Italy, in 1945. She graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Rome, Italy. Since 1969 she has been working in an international organization in Geneva, Switzerland. She started her career as a scientist and has occupied several managerial positions. She has also supervised many students during her working life. She has been always interested in art and is looking after the financial and artistic support of the project.
Eduardo Patricio Namembe is a sculptor from the Maconde ethnic group, his artistic talents also include painting and pottery. He was born in Mocimboa da Praia, Capo Delgado province, Mozambique, in 1975. He graduated in 1990 in Maconde Sculpture and is already involved in the Handcraft Centre of the National Ethnographic Museum of Nampula. He has been chosen to be the artistic counselor of the Nairucu Association Centre.
