The building of the centre has started in Nairucu region

A traditional african cerimony officiated by Mr. Canrroa marked on the morning of the 20th of April the begining of
activities of the Centre.
The Nairucu Arts Center was officially opened by Mr. Baraca, the Chief Administrator of the Rapale District and in
presence
of Dr. Jacinta Macario, the Chief of the Education Department of Rapale.
The leaders of Rapale and many other guest of Nampula participated to the cerimony.
Opening interventions were made by the Artistic Director of the Centre; the Communication Officer of the Centre and
the Chief Administrator of Rapale.
The visit of the Centre and of the exposition room was followed by traditional dances and the childrens of "Rapale
Coro" (choir) exhibition.
CERN exhibit organized by the CERN Staff Assocition of Makonde Art Sculptures by Patricio Eduardo Namembe took place from 16 to 26 of February on the Main Building at CERN.
It was opened in the presence of the Councillor Minister of the Permanent Mission of Mozambique in Geneva Dr. Elias Zimba and of the
Secretary Juvenal Dengo; President of the CERN Staff Association Gianni Deroma and Responsible for
the Staff Association exhibits Sonia Casenove.
